Pasta Making Workshop

Join us for a fully unique pasta making experience! This group workshop leads you through a fun culinary experience that culminates in a delicious meal to be shared by all. 

Chris Linea, our pasta master, chose Costa Rica as his home over ten years ago. He found his passion in pasta – bringing this delightful and simple food to local villages. Coming straight from his rustic, Italian inspired kitchen to your plate, Chris has created a way of life that provides more than just a warm meal, it also provides community and a new food style to the area. 

Pasta is a staple food all around the world, becoming popularized in Italy over the past century. Because the ingredients used to make pasta are affordable and available to all, it has become prolific all around the world, including in many small villages. Here in Costa Rica, it is becoming more common to see it as a meal base along with rice and beans. 

Pasta can be a delightful, fresh meal option and Chris will lead your group through how to make it from scratch so that you can bring this skill home with you. Learn to shape ravioli using locally sourced ricotta cheese from Quesos Canaan, located right down the road! The class also includes an in-depth history of different varieties of pasta, including their regional origins and traditional ingredients.

Rio Chirripo Signature Fresh sauce Ravioli bowl (4 people)
The magic that happens in Rio Chirripo’s kitchen is based on simple recipes made with fresh ingredients.

Ingredients
1 box of Chirripo made ricotta ravioli
1/2  cup of extra virgin olive oil
1 cup cherry tomatoes
1/2 cup organic parsley
1 tablespoon minced garlic
Sea salt to taste

Preparation

Mix the olive oil, cherry tomatoes, parsley and garlic. 
Bring 6 cups of water to a boil.
Add about one tablespoon of salt.
Add the ravioli and boil for approximately 5 minutes or until the ravioli start to come up to the surface.
Strain ravioli and add the raw sauce mixture.
Add desired amount of salt and buen provecho!!!
