Payment and cancellation policies
RESERVATION AND CANCELLATION POLICIES
1- CHECK IN can be made from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Please inform us if you arrive after 7:00 p.m. since we close the front gate and reception. Please ask for a free early check-in to our property.
2- CHECK OUT can be done until 11:00 a.m. Please consult with us for availability for a complimentary late check-out.
3- Your deposit will be refunded if you CANCEL the reservation 30 days before the ARRIVAL DATE. The warranty is only refundable if you cancel within 30 days before the ARRIVAL DATE.
4- All CANCELLATIONS can be made via TELEPHONE or EMAIL and will be supported with a letter from our hotel as proof of the reservation’s cancellation.
5- NO SHOW / EARLY CHECK-OUT will be paid in full.
6- Children under six years old do not pay to lodge.
7- We reserve our right of admission.
FOR YOUR INFORMATION...
We do our best to serve fresh food at our meals. All food is homemade and organic, when possible. We have a specific dinner menu for each day of the week. Please request our menu in advance if you want to see it. Dinner is USD 38.00 per person, including tax, and is a 4-course meal (2 appetizers, main course, and dessert). Dinner is served from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and requires prior reservation. Please ask for our Kid’s Menu.
Río Chirripó does not have a restaurant or a la carte menu. You must notify us if you are vegetarian or have any allergies that we should consider when planning our menu. If you wish to cancel a meal with us, you must do so at least one day in advance (24 hours); otherwise, the total rate will be charged if you do not show up at the time of the service.
Breakfast is served from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Please remember that breakfast is included in your room rate.
NO SMOKING POLICY
Río Chirripó is 100% smoke-free. To ensure that our facilities are not exposed to elements or actions that generate fragrances or scents that are not healthy and, therefore, may adversely affect the stay of our guests by compromising the purity of the air and the cleanliness of walls and furniture; for this reason, smoking tobacco, marijuana, illegal drugs, electronic cigarettes, vape pens, among others is prohibited by the legislation of Costa Rica Law No. 9028. If the use of any of these substances is detected in public areas or rooms during your stay, Río Chirripó may fine you a loss fee based upon repair costs starting at USD 150 for property damage which will be charged to your account.
Río Chirripó is characterized by creating an environment of privacy and tranquility for all our guests during their visit; for this reason, the facilities are only and exclusively for clients who purchase the lodging service.
During your stay at the Hotel, you may wish to receive visits from friends, relatives, or other external guests, who are not staying with us. In that case, you must notify their arrival in advance directly at the front desk, and they must also present their respective identification (ID card or passport). No minor will be admitted unless traveling with a parent or legal guardian.
The use of the facilities for external clients (pool, jacuzzi, river, and other areas) has an additional charge of USD 15 per person, which will be charged to your account. Visiting hours are from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm (these hours may vary if you book breakfast or dinner service).
FACILITY USE AND SAFETY POLICY
The pool and jacuzzi area use is from 7:30 am to 9:00 pm.
Access to the river is at your own risk; Río Chirripó recommends not to enter this area, as strong currents and water heads may cause emergencies or accidents.
All children or minors must remain under the strict supervision of their parents.
We hope you understand that we are trying to provide everyone with an environment of peace and tranquility.
We are pleased to be a pet-friendly facility. And present you our program, HAPPY PETS AT RIO, to ensure the comfort of all our guests; we have some important information you must be aware of:
We allowed pets only in our deluxe rooms category as these rooms are separate buildings on the property; pets are not allowed in standard rooms due to space and closeness to other guests.
We have a pet fee of $25 per night that will be added to the room rate.
Pet must be kept on a leash or crate in the hotel or hotel property unless it is in the guest’s room. We asked you to keep your pets under vigilance and not leave them alone during your stay at Rio Chirripo.
To avoid problems with other guests, pets are not allowed in our restaurant/bar area during the meal services (Breakfast 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. / Dinner 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.).
We accept small pets only – under 15lbs – a maximum of one pet per room.
Pet must be fully trained and appropriately restrained by guests.
Pet must comply with animal health legislation requirements. Up to date on vaccinations required by state law and be free of any infectious or parasites such as fleas.
Guests are responsible for cleaning up after their pets on hotel property and in the neighborhood.
Any disturbances, such as barking, must be curtailed to ensure other guests are not inconvenienced.
Guests must arrange housekeeping service with the front desk department in advance for a convenient time for servicing their room. Housekeeping services for rooms with pets require the pet owner to be present, or the pet must be crated.
Guests are responsible for all property damages and personal injuries resulting from their pets. Any damages caused to furnishings, such as mattresses, cushions, chairs, or floors, will result in a loss for Rio Chirripo; fees will be based upon repair costs starting at USD 150 for property damage which will be charged to your account.
