Cloudbridge Reserve: Situated in a beautiful and remote cloud forest twenty minutes away from our lodge, Cloudbridge is a unique private nature reserve. It was created to preserve and reforest an important gap in the cloud forest adjoining the Chirripó Pacific River on the slopes of Mt. Chirripó. Cloudbridge is a sanctuary for a lot of the birds, insects, flora and fauna of the Chirripo area. You can enjoy it on your own or choose any of the following tours:
-The Cloudbridge Tour: This tour will take you alongside the Chirripo River into the cloud forest. You will have the chance to visit amazing waterfalls on the Chirripo pacific and spot beautiful birds as well as learn about this great project.
–Hike to the Primary forest: Get to hike through a Costa Rica’s old growth forest, home to different species of wildlife.
-Bird watching tours: Learn about endemic birds to the Chirripo area such us the Magnificent Hummingbird, White-throated Mountain gem, Quetzals and others.
-Night tour: This is a chance to see creatures like pit vipers, tarantulas and other nocturnal wonders.
Los Angeles Reserve: Only 30 minutes away from Rio Chirripo lodge, this is a unique reserve situated at about 5000 feet. It is adjacent to Chirripo National Park. It is blessed with a lush rain forest (new and old growth) and the crystal clear Talari River. This reserve has beautiful trails and offers visitors a chance to come in contact with nature.
Mystical tour of the Rainforest: We offer a tour of this reserve that includes a snack, the company of a knowledgeable guide and transportation to and from the reserve.
Small hikes around the Chirripo area: There are plenty of small hikes you can do on your own of nearby botanical gardens, hot springs or to the art gallery of Chirripo’s rural artist Carmen.
